Simple rules for two-photon state preparation with linear optics

Quantum photonic state generation is an crucial topic in Photonic Quantum Computing. This article is the work achievment of my internship at Quandela, a leading quantum computing technology based in Paris. The objective is to characterise the types of two-photon states that can be prepared with linear-optical operations. Finding necessary and sufficient conditions for such operations has applications for the models of photonic quantum computing that are being developed in Quandela.

This post presents my internship at Quandela. You can check out the paper here, elected 2nd best paper of the Quantum Photonics track at the 2024 IEEE International Conference on Quantum Computing and Engineering.

You can also check out my internship report for a more accessible approach and introduction to photonic quantum computing here.
